School Readiness: Books to build your child’s confidence

Some children get a little nervous as the start of ‘Big School’ comes closer, and so reading stories about familiar characters who have gone through the experience of starting school can be a big help to them.

So, if your child has a birthday coming up, or if grandparents want to buy a special gift, why not suggest a ‘Going to School’ book?

Your child will probably read it many times between now and the end of January and every time they do, they’ll feel just a little bit more confident about heading off to school.

To help you with ideas about what books to buy, watch the 3 minute video below and then request a copy of my fact sheet detailing some favourite characters and their going to school stories.

I hope these familiar favourites will help your child to thrive at school next year.
