School Readiness: Building your child’s social skills

Research has shown that children with good social skills are often happier at school. They make friends more easily and are more likely to receive positive messages from teachers because they are able to comply with instructions.

Just like adults, children need to know how to take responsibility for themselves and learning how to read the ‘social cues’ that their peers and teachers give them will be among the most important lessons your child learns next year.

In the 3 minute video below I share some practical tips for building your child’s social skills…and below that, you can request a copy of a social skills check-list that will help you to support your child’s friendship skills.

I hope that they help your child to thrive at school next year.
